This video below features a heartrending song “When I’m Gone” by Joey + Rory, a duo consisting of husband and wife. Joey Lee Feek and Rory Lee Feek came together to form this duo back in 2008 for the CMT’s competition Can You Duet where they placed at third. This song was released as this duo’s third studio album on July 31st 2012.
Even though this song was released in 2012, this song bores a special meaning for this duo because of the recent personal situations. Two years after this song’s release, i.e. in 2014 Joey was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Joey also gave birth to their daughter, Indiana who was born with Down syndrome, the same year. The couple has been struggling with the cancer, but in 2015 Joey announced that the cancer had returned and spread to her colon. In October of the same year, Rory revealed in a blog post that Joey’s cancer was terminal and they were stopping all treatments. According to the recent reports, Joey has entered hospice care.
